The Ravishing Reptiles and Astonishing Amphibians Postcard Collection.
This collection comprises six lithographs produced by the highly talented Christian Votteler for Bruno Dürigen’s masterwork on German amphibians and reptiles, unsurprisingly titled Deutschlands Amphibien und Reptilien and published in 1897. Thanks to the quality of his text, the exquisite illustrations, and the fact that Germany has relatively few reptiles, it remained the chief work on the subject until 1996, when Die Amphibien und Reptilien Deutschlands was published, knocking it off the top spot.
Printed on 350gsm invercote card using high quality inks to retain the colours of the original images.
