Introducing the ‘After Dark’ Greetings Card collection, comprising three enticing works from three remarkable artists: Canal de Chelles (Clair de Lune) by Charles Guilloux is a delightfully tranquil nocturne, depicting a full moon above a canal – a scene which he was drawn to many times. Large Owl on a Screen, by Jan Mankes, is a truly intriguing depiction of a barn owl perched comfortably on the top of a modesty screen. This one raises more questions than answers – a pet perhaps? Or entered by an open bedroom window? And finally we have Wáldinneres (Forest Interior), by Hans Emmenegger, an image that some find a little uncomfortable. To those I say feel the sun on your back – if the shadows unnerve you, you don’t have to go in. . .
