Simon Palmer is one of the country’s leading and sought after landscape artists. Originally trained in graphic design in Surrey, he discovered his true métier interpreting the landscapes of Yorkshire in ink and watercolour after a chance visit with some friends. He has, for many years, made the county his home. Influenced by Grahame Sutherland and Samuel Palmer (no relation), his detailed scenes of the interplay between trees, lanes, shadows, sunlight and fields fascinate and draw the observer further in with every viewing.
